All of the1 bedroom cabins listed below are in the Bryson City, Cherokee, and Nantahala areas of the North Carolina Smoky Mountains. we are convinced SML is the best choice for a stay. Our 1 bedroom North Carolina Smoky Mountain log cabin vacation rentals are popular choices by couples for weekend and romantic getaways. We couldn't see the mountains last September and vowed to come back hence this trip. No other lodge offers as spectacular view of the Tetons, which appear to rise almost straight out of the lake. Jackson Lake Lodge public rooms are spectacular, but we advise staying at Signal Mountain Lodge for overall comfort and convenience in superior accommodations.

We looked over the entire area from Teton Village to the Jackson Lake lodge, and for a mountain getaway trip we are convinced Signal Mountain Lodge offers the best experience.

With Stanley Cup hockey on the TV competing for basketball playoffs, the bar was lively but very friendly in the evenings.

we ate many meals in the restaurant or bar, and found the food superior to restaurants outside the park, and at a very competitive price. All staff were efficient and polite, but not intrusive. The rooms are priced high to limit demand, but we have no regrets. We booked one of their best lake-front cabins and it was extremely clean and very nice in a rustic way. My wife and I spent a week here and loved it. That was the first NP accommodation we have had that had great wifi in the room.

The free wifi worked really well in the room. There is free coffee and hot chocolate in the lodge in the morning. The lake is really big and a boat out there would give you a whole new perspective. We planned to rent a boat before we got here, but on the day we were here the waves were really choppy, so we decided not to. There are many trails to walk, boats to rent. Overall, this is a beautiful place to stay and we really enjoyed being in the park. That took away from what I think would have been a tremendous plate of nachos. We had the nachos based on previous reviews and they are big, but ours came out with stale chips and cold meat. The restaurant and shops were nearby and enjoyable to visit.

We had a nice porch with a picnic table that would have been nice to sit on and enjoy. We had a partial lake view and a great view of the Tetons. Overall, the bed wasn't bad and my kids loved the softness of the mattress, so that's just a personal preference. Also, the bed was squishy, but I just prefer a firm bed. It felt dirty, I only hope it gets washed between guest. My only complaint was the bedspread, which was a rustic quilt. Had a refrigerator on one side of the cabin. Kids loved their separate room and extra space. Each room had the sink outside the bathroom, which was really convenient with kids and parents. We had a 2 room rustic cabin that had a double and a twin in each room and each room had access to the bathroom, in a unique jack and jill access kind of way.
